42 ready-made skills that tie returns to QuickBooks, review drafts, close the month, and scope international filings. Installed in your own Claude account. Every output is a draft; your CPA signs off.

In use at a Maryland CPA firm. Built on Anthropic's Claude. Your data stays in your account.
The problem
Return to books, Schedule L (the balance sheet on the return) to the QuickBooks balance sheet, Schedule M-2 (the equity schedule) to equity. Hours per return, repeated every season, and the first thing to slip when the queue grows.
A chatbot will invent a number, skip a step, or skip the CPA. You need something that cites the file, says what is missing, and stops.
Payroll entries, loan splits, reconciliations, open items: known steps, done differently each month.
What you get
Each one is a written procedure Claude follows for one kind of task: what to read, what to check, what to cite, when to stop. Grouped into tax return work, international filings, monthly close, firm operations, and advisory.
Every skill ends with the same six sections: Facts used, Missing information, Work performed, Exceptions, Recommended action, Review status. Your reviewers learn one format.
Eight rules every skill obeys: use only the attached files; cite document and line for every figure; never guess ownership, basis, elections or residency; never file, post or send anything; show every difference; mark every draft for CPA approval.
A chart-of-accounts-to-tax-form map (300 account rows), review checklists for Forms 1040, 1041, 1065 and 1120-S, 11 reconciliation templates, client email templates, close procedures, and four small scripts that do the arithmetic (QuickBooks export normalizer, tie-out, rollforward, FBAR maximum value).
Skills
Every skill is named for the job it does. Each row shows what the skill does; open it for what you attach, what you get back, and what it did on the sample client. Tier 1 skills are the ones most firms start with.
S01Return to QuickBooks ReconciliationTier 1Ties every line of a draft business return to the QuickBooks books: Form 1120-S (the S corporation return) or Form 1065 (the partnership return), including page 1, Schedule K (the owners' share of income), Schedule L (the balance sheet on the return) and Schedules M-1 and M-2 (the book-to-tax reconciliation and the equity schedule).S02Taxable Income BridgeTier 1Explains, item by item, how the net income in the books becomes the ordinary business income on page 1 of Form 1120-S (the S corporation return) or Form 1065 (the partnership return), separating permanent differences, such as the half of meals that is never deductible, from timing differences, such as tax depreciation that runs ahead of book depreciation.S03Schedule L Tie-OutTier 1Compares Schedule L (the balance sheet on the return) with the QuickBooks balance sheet at the start and the end of the year, line by line, and checks that this year's opening figures match last year's closing figures on the prior return.S04M-1, M-2 and Equity RollforwardTier 1Rebuilds Schedules M-1 and M-2 (the book-to-tax reconciliation and the equity schedule) and ties the owners' equity on the return to the books: the accumulated adjustments account and distributions for an S corporation, the partners' capital accounts for a partnership.S05Return Review ManagerTier 1Reviews a draft Form 1040 (an individual return), Form 1041 (a trust or estate return), Form 1065 (a partnership return) or Form 1120-S (an S corporation return) the way a review manager would: works through the firm's review checklist, ranks what to fix first, lists missing forms, checks carryforwards from last year and scores how ready the return is.S11Basis, Debt and Distribution TrackerTier 2Tracks each owner's tax basis for the year (stock and loan basis for S corporation shareholders, outside basis for partners) and flags losses that cannot be deducted yet and distributions that may be taxable.S12Fixed Assets, Depreciation and Form 3115 ReviewerTier 2Ties the fixed asset register to the books and to the return, recomputes each asset's tax depreciation, rolls forward cost and accumulated depreciation, and lists anything that may need Form 3115 (the form for a change in accounting method).S16Estimated Tax and PlanningTier 2Builds the assumption sheet and the estimated tax payment schedule for the owners and the entity, runs the safe harbor checks (the rules that protect a client from underpayment penalties), and lists planning points and risks.S17IRS and State Notice AnalyzerTier 2Reads an IRS or state notice and produces a plain summary (what the agency says, how much, by when), a comparison with what was filed, a response plan and draft correspondence for the CPA to approve.S28Tax Return Document ExtractorTier 2Pulls the figures out of source documents (returns, Forms W-2 and 1099, Schedules K-1, statements, organizers, spreadsheets) into one organized table, with the tax year and the form line each figure maps to, so staff and the other skills can use them.S19Tax Research and Technical MemoTier 3Writes a tax research memo from a question and the facts: the issue, the facts with their sources, the authorities, the analysis, the alternatives, the open points and the decision left to the CPA.S25Real Estate Cost Segregation and DispositionTier 3Ties a property purchase and a cost segregation study (a study that splits a building into faster-depreciating components) to the fixed asset register and the return, builds the depreciation bridge, ties the mortgages to the lenders, and flags sales, like-kind exchanges and passive activity questions.S26Trust and Estate Return ReviewerTier 3Reviews a Form 1041 (the return of a trust or estate): the income and distribution arithmetic, distributable net income, the income distribution deduction, the beneficiaries' Schedules K-1 and the state filing flags.S27State and Multistate ComplianceTier 3Works out which states a business or an individual must file in, applies the firm's state decision tree, checks the Maryland pass-through entity tax election and payments, and lists apportionment, withholding, residency and credit questions. Ships with the Maryland module; other states on request.S06International Filing MatrixTier 1Works out which international forms a return needs: the FBAR (the foreign bank account report), Form 8938 (the statement of foreign financial assets), Form 8621 (foreign funds), Form 5471 (foreign companies), Form 1116 (the foreign tax credit) and the related forms, with the threshold, the facts relied on and what is still missing for each.S07PFIC Form 8621 WorkpaperTier 1Builds the Form 8621 workpaper for each foreign fund a client holds (a PFIC, or passive foreign investment company, such as a foreign mutual fund), with the lots, the distributions, the elections made in earlier years and the items the CPA must decide.S08Form 5471 CFC AnalyzerTier 1Analyzes a foreign company a client owns for Form 5471 (the information return for US owners of foreign corporations): who owns what, whether it is a controlled foreign corporation, which filer category applies, which schedules are needed and which inputs are still missing.S09FBAR and Form 8938 ReconcilerTier 2Lists every foreign account with its highest balance for the year in US dollars, says whose FBAR (foreign bank account report) each account belongs on, and compares the FBAR with Form 8938 (the statement of foreign financial assets) so both forms list the same accounts.S10Foreign Tax Credit AnalyzerTier 2Organizes foreign income and foreign taxes paid for Form 1116 (the foreign tax credit form): the income basket for each item, the taxes paid by country in US dollars, treaty and refund questions, and whether each tax is creditable.M02Beginning Retained Earnings Tie-OutTier 1Checks that the opening equity in QuickBooks for the new year agrees with the closing equity on last year's return (Schedule L, the balance sheet on the return; Schedule M-2, the equity schedule; and for a partnership each partner's Schedule K-1), and classifies any difference as timing, a book adjustment, a prior-year correction or unresolved.M03Payroll Journal Entry BuilderTier 1Turns the payroll provider's report for the pay dates into the journal entry for the period: gross wages by class, each withholding, each employer tax, benefits, 401(k) and net pay, plus the funding entry.M07Balance Sheet Reconciliation ChecklistTier 1Builds the balance sheet reconciliation checklist for a month: every account's ledger balance against its support (bank and card statements, lender statements, payroll registers, the asset register, intercompany confirmations), with stale reconciling items flagged and a status of ready, blocked or escalated for each account.M01Monthly Document IntakeTier 2Sorts the files a client sends for a month: what each document is, a proposed firm file name, how it matches the client's monthly checklist, what is still missing, and the questions for the preparer.M04Fixed Asset Addition Journal EntryTier 2Drafts the journal entries for a new asset and its financing from the invoice, the payment and the loan papers, decides what is capitalized and what is expensed, and updates the asset-addition workpaper.M05Loan Amortization UpdateTier 2Builds or updates the amortization schedule for each loan, ties principal and interest to the lender's statements and to QuickBooks, flags missing statements, and drafts the correcting entry for the period.M06Transaction ReviewTier 2Reviews the general ledger for a period and lists the transactions that need a reviewer's eye or a client's answer: uncoded, unusual, personal, related-party, meals and entertainment, shareholder and other tax-sensitive items.M08Month-End Adjustment AssistantTier 2Proposes the month-end adjusting entries (accruals, prepaids, depreciation, amortization, intercompany and similar) with the calculation behind each, the period to book it in, whether it reverses, and who approves it.M09Monthly Books ReviewTier 2Writes the monthly books review memo before the financials go to the client: changes from prior months and budget, unusual balances and trends, cash and equity reasonableness tests, and questions with an owner for each.M11Open Items TrackerTier 2Keeps the open-items list for a client and period: owner, date requested, follow-up date, status, effect on the close, days overdue, and a draft follow-up message for each item.M121099 Preparation ListTier 2Prepares the year-end Form 1099 workpaper (the forms that report payments to contractors and landlords): payments by payee, who is reportable and on which form and box, what is excluded (card payments, corporations) and which vendors still need a Form W-9.S13Monthly Close Quality ControlTier 2Runs one quality check over a finished monthly close: which close steps are evidenced, balances that look stale or unusual, a three-way cash tie-out (bank, QuickBooks, ledger activity), journal entries worth a second look and observations on the financial statements.S14QuickBooks Cleanup and Catch-UpTier 3Plans the cleanup of books that are behind or unreliable: maps the accounts, tests the opening balances against the last filed return, lists the transactions to fix, and rates each period's readiness with the item blocking it.M10Syft Report NarrativeTier 3Writes client-ready commentary on a Syft KPI report, after checking every figure in the report against QuickBooks and separating fact from interpretation.S15Payroll, Sales Tax and PTE ComplianceTier 2Checks that payroll taxes, sales and use tax and the Maryland pass-through entity tax (the PTE tax) are filed and paid: ties the payroll register to the books and the return, tests the liability accounts, summarizes the pass-through entity tax payments, and builds the compliance calendar.S18Client Request and Explanation WriterTier 2Turns a CPA's notes into a client email in the firm's standard wording: a clear request or explanation, the deadline, the action steps, and nothing the CPA has not approved.S21Client Onboarding and Data CompletenessTier 3Builds the onboarding tracker for a new client: the entities confirmed against a filed return, the scope of service, the missing documents, the deadline risks, and the recommended project structure and skills by role.S22Review Ready QueueTier 3Ranks the returns and closes waiting for review by urgency, blocker and impact from the firm's tracker, and gives the next review step for each. It reads the tracker and changes nothing in it.S23SOP and Training BuilderTier 3Writes a role-specific standard operating procedure, a checklist, exception handling and a short training quiz from the firm's existing procedures and policy, and keeps an update log.S29Deadline, Extension and E-file MonitorTier 3Tracks every return's federal and state filing status, the deadlines and extended dates, and the rejections, with the action and the cure deadline for each, and drafts the client notices.S30Engagement Scope, Fee and Risk ReviewTier 3Sizes up a new or renewing engagement: compares the inquiry, the organizer and the prior returns, flags complexity, lists the documents needed, proposes which services and skills apply, and gives internal prompts for the fee discussion.S20Entity Structure and Election AnalyzerTier 3Compares entity structures and elections for an owner (sole proprietorship, partnership, S corporation, C corporation) with the tax and compliance effects of each, the consequences of converting, and the elections and filings to consider.S24Medical and Dental Practice AnalyzerTier 3Reviews a medical or dental practice's numbers: net collections, the key ratios (supplies, lab, staff cost and owner pay as a share of collections), margin observations, entity and payroll questions, and an agenda for the planning meeting. How a skill behaves
A skill reads only what you attach. It cites the document, year, entity, form, line and amount behind every figure. When it cannot confirm a fact, it says "Unverified" and lists what would confirm it. When a required file is missing, it stops and says so. It never files, posts, pays or sends. Every output ends with a review status, so the reviewer knows where to start.
Facts used. The files read and the key numbers relied on.
Missing information. What the skill needed but did not have, and who should supply it.
Work performed. The tables, tie-outs and calculations.
Exceptions. Differences, errors, anything that contradicts the files.
Recommended action. What to do next, including the points a CPA must decide.
Review status. Ready, Conditionally ready, Blocked, or Escalated, with a confidence and the reasons.
Every output is a draft and says "requires CPA approval before use". Figures that depend on a tax-year rate or form line carry a verify tag for the reviewer.
Proof
The bundle ships with three made-up clients: Brightside Family Dentistry PC (an S corporation on QuickBooks), Harbor Point Holdings LLC (a real estate partnership), and the Linden household (a Form 1040 with foreign accounts, a foreign fund and a foreign company). Each comes with clean files, files with planted errors, and files with pieces missing, so your team can watch every skill catch what it should catch. No client data is needed to evaluate it.
In use at a Maryland CPA firm for the 2025 filing season.

Yes. The skills run inside your own Claude account, so you need a plan that supports custom skills and code execution. If you are not on Claude yet, we set it up during installation.
Into your own Claude account, under Anthropic's terms for your plan, and nowhere else. We never see your client files; installation uses the fictional sample clients.
No. It does not file, e-file, post entries or send anything. It prepares workpapers, reviews drafts and drafts correspondence, and every output is marked for CPA approval.
It is built to say what it could not verify rather than guess, and a CPA reviews every output before use. Figures that depend on a tax-year rate or form line are tagged for the reviewer to confirm. The yearly update keeps those current.
Form 1120-S (S corporations), Form 1065 (partnerships), Form 1040 (individuals) and Form 1041 (trusts and estates); the international forms: the FBAR foreign account report, Form 8938 (foreign financial assets), Form 8621 (foreign funds), Form 5471 (foreign companies), Form 1116 (the foreign tax credit) and the related forms; and QuickBooks Online bookkeeping. The state module ships for Maryland; other states are added on request.
The bookkeeping skills read QuickBooks Online exports (CSV). Returns are read as line-item exports or PDFs. Nothing connects to your software directly in this version.
Yes. The skills are written procedures, not black boxes. The custom tier writes your own checklists and templates into them; the founding bundle uses the standard ones.
About a day of our time and one hour of yours, usually within a week of purchase.
